About:
To me (and likely many others), Portishead was the pinnacle of trip hop, pushing past the tropes of the genre into something bleak, black and utterly magical. I wanted to make something that reflected what I consider the "comforting melancholia" of Portishead. I feel like this was a tight wire - too many heavy notes would bring it into amber and incense territory, while too many light notes would bring it into clean-fruity and lose the heaviness. Hopefully, I've succeeded.

Two phases. First is fruity pine tar and smoked woods. Second is creamy white musk. I think it's gorgeous. Would not recommend to those who fear suffocation.

Not for me

I picked this up expecting it to be a pear twist on a classic skin scent. It was not that, at least not on me! I can definitely smell the pear, but stronger than that is this thick syrupy sweetness, like molasses. It ended up smelling like root beer on me? A strong, distinct root beer smell that I guess some combination of notes mixed with my skin chemistry to create. In the dry down, the pear completely faded away and I’m left with pure root beer.

Truly Enigmatic

It smelled really good! I say enigma because the notes blend so well together to make such a feel good, cozy soft scent. I was sad when the smell was gone. I say medium longevity. I put it on at night by morning it was gone.
